Goldfish 1

The Goldfish series is an exciting series of 3 progressive awards expanding on skills in a fun, progressive, challenging and rewarding way. On completion of this series, swimmers will be able to swim 15 metres without any aids.

When do the classes run?

Our current classes run on the following days and times

Monday 16:20-16:50

Tuesday 15:45-16:15

Wednesday 15:45-16:15

Thursday 16:55-17:25

Friday 16:20-16:55

Saturday 08:30-09:00/10:15-10:45

Sunday 09:55-10:25

How much does it cost

Our swimming terms run alongside West Sussex School term and usually run for 6 weeks. The cost of the 6 week term is £75. If a swimmer starts after the term has started this will be adjusted.

How many swimmers in a class?

We can have up to a maximum of 6 swimmers in the water with one Level 2

These classes are run in a 10m section in the deep end of the pool

Lesson Criteria

Swimmers must be confident in swimming in deep water. If they are not yet comfortable, we recommend beginning with our Octopus 3 level, where participants will be introduced to deep water swimming.

Answer 2 water safety questions
Enter the water with a step or jump entry, tread water for 5 seconds, swim to poolside
Push and glide, and hold the streamlined position for 5 seconds
Push and glide, or swim to the bottom of the pool, to retrieve an object
Swim 5 metres on front, roll over and swim 5 metres on back
Perform dolphin leg kick on the front or back for 5 metres
Scull head first for 3 metres
Scull feet first - swimming aids may be used
Show rhythmical breathing in front crawl for 10 metres. Swimming aids may be used
Swim a recognisable breaststroke for 5 metres
Kick 10m on the back unaided

How do I book?

We are fully booked for the current term and are currently maintaining waiting lists for all Goldfish levels.
We would be pleased to add swimmers to the appropriate waiting list and will contact you when a place becomes available. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide an estimated timeframe, as availability depends on renewals and promotions each term.
